Announcement of Results: 2026 ARKO Art Studio

We extend our sincere appreciation to all applicants who expressed interest and submitted proposals for the 2026 ARKO Art Studio Residency. We are pleased to announce the results of the deliberation process as follows:

• A total of 548 applications were received during the open call for the 2026 ARKO Art Studio Residency (application period: February 2–18, 2026).
• Following a two-stage deliberation process—including a first-round document review and a second-round interview—10 artists have been selected for the residency.

□ Notice on Upcoming Procedures

• (Orientation Attendance) An orientation session will be held for the selected artists to ensure smooth implementation of the residency program. Orientation will be conducted separately for each term, and detailed schedules will be provided at a later date.
• (Residency Period Compliance) Please note that the first-term residency period is scheduled to begin in March 2026 and end by July 2026, while the second term will run from August 2026 to December 2026. Selected artists are expected to comply with the respective term periods.
• (Withdrawal Policy) If a selected artist wishes to forfeit their participation, a formal withdrawal request must be submitted within 30 days of the announcement date. Please be advised that if withdrawal is made after the 30-day window, the applicant may be disqualified from applying to the same program for a period of one year from the date of withdrawal.

□ Ombudsman for the Deliberation Process

• To ensure fairness and transparency in its open call programs and to safeguard the rights of artists, ARKO operates a Deliberation Ombudsman system. The Ombudsman is a standing body composed of professionals from fields such as law, public administration, business, and media. It is responsible for reviewing and addressing any unfair or inappropriate handling of matters during the deliberation process or in relation to its outcomes.
• If you believe that there were any procedural irregularities or unjust administrative practices in the deliberation process or its results, you may submit a formal inquiry to the Ombudsman within 15 days from the date of the results announcement.
