*Seungduk Kim: The project of the Korean Pavilion started with extensive research on its architecture before even thinking about any specific artists. Right after the first visit to the site of the Korean Pavilion in Venice, I requested a renovation of the pavilion as a starting point of this project.

김승덕: 한국관 프로젝트는 어떤 특정한 예술가를 떠올리기 전에, 전시장의 건축에 관한 연구부터 시작했습니다. 베니스에 있는 한국관의 현장에 처음으로 방문하자마자, 나는 이 프로젝트의 출발점으로 보수 공사를 요청했습니다. 이 연구의 첫 단계에서 저는 이번 프로젝트에 관해 여러 사람들과 집중적으로 토론했습니다. 당시에 조언을 아끼지 않았던 박찬경, 김정주, 샤를 드모, 진은숙, 마리에게도 이 자리를 빌어 감사의 말을 전합니다. 또한 그 동안 한국관의 커미셔너를 역임했던 윤재갑, 주은지, 안소연, 김홍희씨의 너그럽고 지속적인 충고가 제게 큰 도움이 되었습니다.

그 동안 베니스 현지에서 한국관을 돌보아 온 건축가 김은정씨는 특히 이번 프로젝트에서 개조와 설치의 전 과정에서 문제가 닥칠 때마다 해결자가 되어 주었습니다. 또한 언제나 자신의 조용한 성실함과의 균형 감각을 잃지 않았습니다. 레스타우리 리오 마린사의 피에로 모렐로는 보수 공사에서 중책을 맡아 그의 팀원들을 적재적소에 배치하며 공사가 잘 끝마칠 수 있도록 해 주었습니다. 그의 팀원은 마시모 나탈리, 네그루타 투도르, 세르지오 로부, 지오반니 툴부르, 시자르 드 로시, 엠마누엘레 비아토입니다. 또한 탑필름에서 일하는 스테파노 솜마칼과 카테리나 바라토의 활약도 빠트릴 수 없습니다.

김승덕: 한국관 프로젝트는 어떤 특정한 예술가를 떠올리기 전에, 전시장의 건축에 관한 연구부터 시작했습니다. 베니스에 있는 한국관의 현장에 처음으로 방문하자마자, 나는 이 프로젝트의 출발점으로 보수 공사를 요청했습니다. 이 연구의 첫 단계에서 저는 이번 프로젝트에 관해 여러 사람들과 집중적으로 토론했습니다. 당시에 조언을 아끼지 않았던 박찬경, 김정주, 샤를 드모, 진은숙, 마리에게도 이 자리를 빌어 감사의 말을 전합니다. 또한 그 동안 한국관의 커미셔너를 역임했던 윤재갑, 주은지, 안소연, 김홍희씨의 너그럽고 지속적인 충고가 제게 큰 도움이 되었습니다.
