화난 햄릿 Angry Hamlet

“화난 햄릿”은 2009년 작인 “L박사의 밀실”과 마찬가지로 L박사가 만드는 입체 드로잉 극이다.L박사는 자신의 드로잉들을 위한 극단을 세우고 햄릿이라는 비극을 무대에 올리는 연출자이자 햄릿 대신 숙부와 어머니를 살해하는 연극의 주인공으로 등장한다.

“화난 햄릿”은 인간의 원초적인 욕망에 대한 원형을 제시한 햄릿의 내러티브를 빌려왔다는 점에서 예술가로서의 자아의 욕망을 그려내던 전작에 비해 보다 보편적인 인간의 욕망을 그려내고자 한다.

Similar to “The Cube of Dr. L.” created in 2009, “Angry Hamlet” is also a 3D drawing in which Dr. L. creates a theatrical company for his drawings and assumes the roles of the producer of ‘Hamlet’, the actor who kills Hamlet’s uncle and the Hamlet’s mother.

In “Angry Hamlet”, Lee aims to depict human desire as being more universal than shown in his previous works. The narrative of ‘Hamlet’ serves as a prototype of basic human desire.
