FORLORN STANDARD, 2010

"In this series, different objects that still retain their unique functions were altered to serve a common purpose. I cut, sanded and polished the surfaces of objects including a hammer, a shoe brush, and a weight so they could reflect things like mirrors. Some became as good as an ordinary mirror, while others never became reflective. I drew inspiration for the Forlorn Standard series from people trying to fit themselves into a single standard, which neglects each individual's value and potential." Lee Wan
